This 9 inch tall hand thrown crystalline glazed vase has a narrow neck with a flat top which adds dynamism to the classic shape of this piece. It was made from about 5 pounds of pure porcelain clay on the potters wheel and is a completely unique piece of ceramic art as I never make the same shape repeatedly, instead I let the clay and my mood dictate the form hence each piece is a one off.

The use of crystalline glazes adds to the individuality of each piece as no two crystalline glazes are ever the same. The crystals you can see in the surface of the glaze are a natural product of the glaze formula and firing cycles. Crystalline glazes are hard to produce with a very high failure rate, hence the relatively high price for such pieces.

Each crystalline piece takes between two and three weeks to complete which explains why this type of ceramics is fairly rare in the pottery world. I do hope you like this vase as much as I do. Thank you for reading.
