This lidded crystalline glazed urn stands about 6 inches tall without the lid and is 8 inches tall with the lid attached. At the widest point of the belly it is about 7 inches. The crystalline glaze has produced a blue/green background with darker green crystals adding to the beauty of the form. The lid fits well and compliments the rounded shape of the urn. The urn was thrown on the potters wheel using porcelain clay before being dried to the leather hard stage then trimmed into the shape you can see. Two firings to very high temperatures followed resulting in the beautiful green crystals forming in the surface of the glaze with a pale blue background. The crystals on the lid match perfectly with the body of the urn.

Crystalline pottery is fairly rare because of the difficulties of complicated firing schedules and the high failure rates but, when a piece like this is produced it is well worth the effort. This urn is completely original being one of a kind, as I never reproduce the same form over and over again. This is a dynamic piece of ceramic art which I do hope you like. Thank you for reading.
